[type tool]

Designed to teach beginning designers about the basic style characteristics of typography, [type tool] allows the user to alter, combine, and compare four different elements of type design: serifs, contrast, x-height, and weight. Users can mix and match between three different options for each of these four categories, and also compare the differences within the categories. For example, one can see what a bold, transitional letter would look like with a slab serif, and also visually compare the difference between modern and transitional contrast. Additionally, clicking the name of a category gives the user a short written description of it.
