Georgia Learning Resource System
BRANCH LOGOS
GLRS - Branch Logo Designs
The Georgia Learning Resource System is a network of 18 regional programs that provide training and resources to school district personnel, parents of students with disabilities, and other interested individuals to support the functional and academic achievement, graduation rate, and post-secondary success of students with disabilities.
In 2021 I designed logos for the Coastal and East branches of GLRS. Designing for this project was unique because the logos needed to work together in a system while still marking each branch as their own.
Why the apple?
Both branches needed the apple element in order to tie into the original logo for the entire GLRS system, which had been an apple. From there, they wished to differentiate themselves and their region.
I chose the crane as a symbol of coastal Georgia, one that was synonymous with the quiet, peaceful side of the marshes. For East GLRS, they asked for a golfing element, as their region is home to the annual Master's Tournament.
The phrase 'Learning Knows No Bounds' is central to the GLRS mission as they work with many special education programs. In response to this, I wanted to keep the logo open and inviting, one that 'has no bounds'.
